Providing HELP, HOPE and a HOME for hurting women
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Tabitha House?

Tabitha Ministry is a year-long, Christ-based 12-step residential program that mentors and disciples women who want to change the course of their lives. While at Tabitha House, residents agree to follow the house rules as they earn trust and receive training.

What are the requirements to be accepted into the program?

Our program is specifically designed for women in their 30's and 40's. Our program is very active, so applicants must be able to climb stairs and have the physical stamina to work in our thrift store an average of 20 hours a week to meet our community service requirement. The ideal applicant is sick to death of her life and willing to make major changes to recover from her past.

What is the cost of the program?

There is no cost to apply or enroll in the program. Tabitha Ministry charges nothing to provide its services. Living costs are covered entirely by donations from the community.

Is the program religious?

Yes. The program requires applicants to live in a Christ-centered environment, which includes attending worship services at a local church each Sunday and Christ-centered classes during the week.

Do residents have to be Christian to apply?

Applicants need not be Christian, but they must be open to learning about the Christian faith.

What does a typical week look like?

Residents spend an average of 20 hours each week doing community service in the ministry's thrift store, Tabitha's Closet. They also complete multiple classes on a variety of topics, including a Christ-based 12-step recovery class, critical thinking and coping skills, healthy boundaries, co-dependency, trauma, Bible study, and life skills (communication, budgeting, self-care, etc.). Residents attend church every Sunday.
